Kris comes to Noynoy's defense MANILA - Kris Aquino has again defended presidential aspirant Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III from what she described as black propaganda against her older brother.
Kris assailed those who were spreading lies about Noynoy through text messages. On “The Buzz” Sunday, she particularly addressed a text message that encouraged the public to help Noynoy by bringing their checkbooks in Star Magic’s “Magic for A Cause” event.
Sunday's fund-raising fashion show was meant to help the victims of tropical storms Ondoy (Ketsana) and Pepeng (Parma).
Kris maintained that the Star Magic event "has nothing whatsoever to do with my brother." She pointed out that Noynoy has never publicized his relief missions to various affected areas.
She noted that she herself has been “too careful” not to broadcast his relief works in her shows.
“None of my shows ever carried footage of what Noy has done. In fact, kawawa nga kasi other people na tumulong, ini-air natin. Pero kasi proper ako, hindi ko ho ginagawa iyon. Dahil pinapanood niyo ako Kris as the personality, not as his sister,” she said.
She added that the “’Magic for A Cause’ is a Star Magic event in which all politicians, I think all the [presidential aspirants], have been invited.”
The text message is also unfair to the management of Star Magic, according to Kris.
“Meron silang sariling adhikain at sana po magtulong tulong tayo. Nakalagay [dito sa text], ‘break out the bubbly, the champagne and all.’ It’s really in bad taste,” she said.
To Noynoy's detractors, Kris said: “Kung nagpapakalat kayo ng propaganda against my brother, it just proves talaga na matindi ang hatak ng kapatid ko kaya kailangan niyo siyang siraan ng siraan."
"And iyong mga libo libong pamilya na natulungan na ni Noynoy at Mar (running mate Sen. Manuel Roxas II), sana po kayo na ang gumawa ng paraan to defend them,” she said.
